Alex Waislitz OAM
Executive Chairman
Alex established Thorney Investment Group in 1991. Prior to establishing Thorney, Alex held a number of roles within the Pratt Group and Visy Industries. Early in his career, he worked for Australia’s first billionaire Robert Holmes à Court in New York City. Alex has been the driver of Thorney Investment Group’s evolution into a large, diversified, private investment house.

Peter Landos
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Peter joined Thorney Investment Group in 2000 as COO. Prior to joining, Peter worked in the Investment Banking Group at Macquarie Bank. Peter has extensive business and corporate experience specialising in board and management advisory, mergers and acquisitions, divestments, business restructurings and capital markets. Peter is a non-executive director of ASX-listed companies, Adacel Technologies Limited and Gale Pacific Limited, and a non-executive director of Rural Press Pty Limited.

Martin Casey
Chief of Staff
Martin has been a long term adviser to Thorney Investment Group and assumed the role of Chief of Staff for the Waislitz Family Office in early 2022. Martin is also a partner in Rampersand, a technology focused Venture Capital firm, and a director of a number of companies including Fortlake Asset Management Pty Ltd, Anaeco Ltd and ADG Global Ltd. Martin has previously been a partner in an international law firm and an investment banker at Credit Suisse.
Craig Smith
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Craig Smith CPA, ACIS joined Thorney Investment Group as CFO in 2008. He was appointed Company Secretary of Thorney Opportunities Ltd in November 2013 and of Thorney Technologies Ltd in 2016. He is a director and company secretary of AnaeCo Limited. Prior to joining Thorney, Craig held CFO/Company Secretarial roles with ASX-listed companies Baxter Group Limited and Tolhurst Noall Limited.

Tony Gray
Media Advisor
Tony is a former journalist with publications and outlets including the Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, BRW magazine and ABC radio and television, who established a boutique advisory business in 2012. Tony provides high level strategic communications advice to the Thorney team. He worked for more than 20 years as the public’s affairs director for the Pratt family’s Visy Group which continues to retain him.

Avee joined Thorney Investment Group in 1994. Prior to joining Thorney, Avee commenced his career with a major financial institution in business banking.

Jeremy Davis
Investment Manager
Jeremy joined Thorney Investment Group in 2012. Prior to joining Thorney, Jeremy worked for several funds management organisations including OB Group and Guild Capital Asset Management over the past 17 years. Jeremy commenced his career with international accounting firm BDO Nelson Parkhill.

Andrew Silverberg
Investment Manager & Senior Analyst – United States Portfolio
Andrew Silverberg is an experienced Investment Manager and Analyst based in the United States. Andrew joined Thorney Investment Group in 2019 and manages Thorney’s US-listed equities, unlisted investments and properties. Prior to joining Thorney, Andrew was Senior Portfolio Manager for a multi-billion dollar NYC family office, partner in a USD$500 million hedge fund and Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager for Fred Alger Management.

Anthony joined Thorney Investment Group in 2017. Prior to joining Thorney, Anthony acted as an equity research analyst for a number of stockbroking firms as well as for a fund manager in Sydney.

Eric Tan
Investment Manager
Eric joined the team as an Investment Analyst at Thorney in 2018. With a background in Equity and Managed Funds Research, Eric has previously worked as an Equity Research Intern at CIMB, before joining Contango Asset Management as an Associate Analyst.

Bronson Ritterman
Property Investment & Development Manager
Bronson joined Thorney Investment Group in 2014, and runs the property division at Thorney. His focus is on private sector property investment in debt and equity projects, across all sectors. Prior to joining Thorney, Bronson worked as a Civil Engineer for over 10 years for a top tier Contractor on major projects across Victoria, Australia, and internationally on a world-class shopping centre project in London, United Kingdom.

Dean Higgins
Trader
Dean joined Thorney Investment Group in 2006 and is chiefly responsible for trading and execution of equities trades at Thorney. Prior to joining Thorney, Dean worked at a number of international investment banks in a variety of trading and equity capital market roles.

Jake Waislitz
Investment Analyst
Jake joined Thorney Investment Group in July 2023. Jake graduated from the Monash University in Business and Economics in 2023 and has completed internships at Visy Industries, Ellerston Capital, Thorney & Henslow. He is also a Director and Trustee of the Waislitz Charitable Corporation.
